The members of El Paso Karma Connects surprised the Reynolds Home Director with an unexpected Christmas Gift sparked by a Reynolds Home Bus Token campaign to help with women residents’ transportation needs. Mr. Raul Martinez and the Karma Connects team presented a gift of Sun Metro bus tokens worth $600 Wednesday, Dec. 17 to Dorothy Truax at the shelter. The group has also pledged to continue to provide tokens each month for the coming year, 2016, to help us meet this most important need. Being that this was the first quarter in an effort to recruit membership to Karma Connects, the director was amazed at the numbers of individuals and businesses who have already been recruited to aid our moms and kids.
The residents use the tokens to look for jobs, take their children to doctors’ appointments, visit the schools their children attend, visit state agencies and other offices to acquire documents necessary for establishing themselves and their families. The Home helps each family with transportation as part of their basic services program.
